About Me
My name is Chris Bean. I started woodturning and woodworking more seriously at the beginning of the pandemic in the spring of 2020. Since then I have tried my hand at solid, segmented, and open segmented bowls and vases.
Woodturning is a hobby of mine. My real work right now is as a PhD graduate student at UIUC studying Material Science and Engineering. Prior to becoming a graduate student, I taught high school physics in Chicago for two years.
I do need to give a small shout-out to a few people who have taught me several things and have made my woodturning successful and possible. Thanks to Earl Weber, Tom Leimbach, and my father Vern Bean.
